New Delhi: The results of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 have concluded, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieving a commanding victory by securing 48 out of the 70 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which previously held power, saw a significant loss, managing to win only 22 seats. Among the casualties were key AAP leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

With the magic number set at 36, the BJP’s victory places them in a strong position to form the next government in Delhi. The party is currently in the process of finalizing its Chief Ministerial candidate, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah leading discussions with senior BJP leaders. Parvesh Verma, who defeated Kejriwal in his constituency, is seen as a top contender for the position.
