BJP leader Raja Singh has urged the Hyderabad Police Commissioner to take measures against religious practices that disrupt public life on city roads. Singh asserted that roads should not be used as spaces for religious rituals and warned that his group would recite the Hanuman Chalisa in response if prayers are conducted on public thoroughfares.
Highlighting the impact of such actions, Raja Singh said they cause unnecessary inconvenience and disruptions for the general public. He called on the police to ensure that no group engages in activities that create discomfort or obstruction, maintaining roads as peaceful and neutral spaces for all.
Referencing previous incidents in other states where prayers on roads led to controversies, Raja Singh pointed out that counter-reactions often followed, with other groups organizing public recitations of Hanuman Chalisa. He stressed the need for proactive measures to avoid such situations and safeguard the public’s access to unhindered and harmonious road use.
