AP to Issue New QR-Code Ration Cards from March

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the issuance of new ration cards embedded with QR codes starting from the first week of March. State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar confirmed that provisions will also be made for modifications and additions to existing ration cards. During his visit to Nellore district on Saturday, the minister participated in various development programs and stated that the process for issuing the new ration cards will commence in all village and ward secretariats within a week.

3.36 Lakh Applications Pending for Modifications

Manohar emphasized the government’s commitment to welfare initiatives and called on women to actively participate in these schemes. He noted that Chief Minister Chandrababu has fulfilled the Deepam-2 scheme promise made in the election manifesto. In Nellore district alone, four lakh free gas cylinders have been distributed, while 93.42 lakh gas connections have been provided statewide. The government is preparing to distribute an additional 1.50 crore connections. Meanwhile, around 3.36 lakh applications for modifications and additions to ration cards are currently pending.
