Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government organized a memorial meeting in honour of Ramoji Rao, Chairman of the Ramoji Group of companies and Padma Vibhushan awardee. The event, held at Kanooru on the outskirts of Vijayawada, was attended by prominent political and film personalities, as well as numerous journalists. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Ramoji Rao’s family members were present. Floral tributes were paid to Ramoji Rao, and his family members donated Rs. 10 crore for the development of AP’s capital, Amaravati.
During the event, Chief Minister Chandrababu made several significant remarks. He praised Ramoji Rao as a great individual who rose from humble beginnings to become a powerful figure. Chandrababu stated, “Ramoji Rao is a great man who came from an ordinary family and became a great power.
He highlighted Ramoji Rao’s relentless fight for people’s issues with innovative ideas and his contributions to various fields. He mentioned the global fame of Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and Rao’s dedication to service during calamities. Reflecting on his 40-year association with Ramoji Rao, Chandrababu said, “He did not know what fear was. The struggle is his inspiration. Ramoji Rao is a person who will be remembered forever by the Telugu nation. He was a man who lived all his life for the sake of values.”
Chandrababu continued, “Amaravati suffered for five years but is once again in its former glory. In his last days, Ramoji Rao expressed his wish to ‘work and die while working.’ It is the responsibility of all of us to draw inspiration from Ramoji Rao’s legacy. Ramoji Rao should be given the Bharat Ratna for his services to the Telugu nation. We must fight for Bharat Ratna awards for both NTR and Ramoji Rao. We will establish the Ramoji Vignan Kendra in Amaravati and the Ramoji Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. A road will also be named after him. We will establish Vizag Ramoji Chitra Nagari and make it a hub for film production,” Chandrababu announced.
