Hyderabad: Aghori Mata, who gained widespread attention for her controversial actions and statements, including the Muthyalamma temple incident in Secunderabad, successfully completed her darshan at Sri Kalahasti Temple on Thursday, after a tense confrontation with temple security and local authorities.
The Aghori, previously known for her sensational remarks about protecting Sanatan Dharma, was visiting Andhra Pradesh’s Shaiva temples during the auspicious Karthika month. However, her visit to Sri Kalahasti was marred by an altercation when temple security stopped her due to non-compliance with the temple’s dress code.
In a dramatic turn of events, Aghori Mata opened a petrol can from her vehicle and attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on herself and her car, demanding entry into the temple. The police intervened swiftly, preventing the act and engaging in a brief exchange with her.
Following the intervention, the police escorted Aghori Mata to an ambulance and persuaded her to comply with the dress code. She ultimately agreed and, by evening, was allowed to enter the temple under police escort, where she successfully completed her darshan of Lord Shiva. Despite the tense situation, the visit concluded without further incident.
