Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu has announced a ₹20,000 additional subsidy for Backward Classes (BCs) under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme for installing solar rooftops. With this move, BCs opting for a 2-kilowatt solar rooftop system will receive a total subsidy of Rs 80,000.
Subsidy Structure:
– Central Government Subsidy: Rs 60,000
– State Government Additional Subsidy: Rs 20,000
– Total Subsidy: Rs 80,000
– Total Installation Cost: Rs 1.20 lakh
Chandrababu emphasized that this initiative is aimed at empowering the BC community and promoting renewable energy adoption.
Boost to Industrial Investments:
In the same Assembly session, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the implementation of projects that have already secured investment agreements. He instructed the establishment of a tracker system to monitor the progress of these projects.
In the recent State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting, 10 companies from sectors like industries, power, and tourism committed investments worth Rs 1,21,659 crore, generating 80,104 employment opportunities.
