Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS Chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is set to attend the Budget session of the Assembly from March 12, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) confirmed on Monday.
Since the party’s defeat in the Assembly elections, KCR has largely remained absent from public and political engagements. Despite making a brief appearance in the Assembly, he has yet to actively participate in discussions or question the Congress-led government. His absence has led to growing anticipation among BRS cadres and the public regarding his return to the political forefront.
KTR made this announcement while attending the nomination filing of BRS leader Dasoju Sravan for the MLC elections. Speaking to the media, he remarked, “KCR had nominated Sravan for an MLC post in 2023, but the BJP deliberately obstructed the process. Had he left BRS, he would have already secured a legislative position. However, he remained loyal to the party.”

KTR also criticized the Congress government, accusing it of financial mismanagement and diversionary tactics. “Private looting has increased, state revenues are declining, and artificial financial deficits are being projected. If Revanth Reddy claims to have strong ties with the central government, he must clarify how much financial aid Telangana has received under his leadership,” he stated.
He further questioned the Congress government’s priorities, saying, “In the past 15 months, has the Congress government taken a single stand against the BJP? Their budget is an absolute failure, and they are now resorting to distraction politics. What is the purpose of hosting the Miss World competition? Spending Rs 200 crore—what tangible benefits will it bring? How many jobs will be created?”
With KCR’s confirmed participation in the Budget session, political observers are keenly watching the developments within the Telangana Assembly.
