Most-Wanted Naxalite Hidma’s Daughter Surrenders in Telangana

In a significant development, Vanjem Kesha, daughter of most-wanted Naxalite Hidma, has surrendered before the police. Warangal Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha confirmed that a reward of Rs 4 lakh had been announced for her capture. Kesha, who was associated with Chaitanya Natyamandali since childhood, was inducted into the Gotti Koya Area Committee in 2021 and later married fellow cadre member Ramesh.

19 Maoists Surrender in Bhadradri Kothagudem
Meanwhile, 19 Maoists surrendered before Bhadradri Kothagudem Superintendent of Police Rohit Raj as part of a police operation. Among them were three members of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) First Battalion, including a key commander under Hidma’s leadership. The surrendered Maoists cited disillusionment with armed struggle and a desire to return to civilian life.

Operation Chayutha Encourages Maoist Surrenders
The surrenders come amid Operation Chayutha, a central government initiative aimed at rehabilitating former extremists. Several Maoists from Chhattisgarh have surrendered under this program, including South Bastar Divisional Committee Member Naroti Manish alias Akash, who carried a Rs 8 lakh bounty. Other surrendered members include PLGA First Battalion operatives Madivi Nand, Madivi Handa, and Madivi Hadma, who previously served as guards for senior Central Committee leaders. The Chhattisgarh government had placed a Rs 4 lakh bounty on Nand and Handa.
