Prominent Tollywood producer and Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman Dil Raju appeared at the Income Tax (IT) office on Tuesday morning for a personal inquiry. This follows recent IT raids conducted at his residence, which lasted for nearly four days. Acting on the notices issued by IT officials, Dil Raju arrived at the office with relevant documents and bank details.
Last month, IT officials carried out extensive searches at the homes and offices of Dil Raju and his relatives, including his daughter and brother Sirish. The officials examined financial transactions related to his film production and business ventures. Following the raids, Dil Raju was instructed to submit detailed records of his business dealings, including investments and earnings from 2023 to 2025.

Authorities reportedly focused on discrepancies between his declared income and tax payments, leading to suspicions of financial irregularities. IT officials also scrutinized the box office collections of Sankranti releases and gathered information regarding films produced under Dil Raju’s banner over the past two years. Additionally, raids were conducted at the residences and offices of several other Tollywood producers.
In response to the media coverage of the raids, Dil Raju dismissed allegations against him, stating that he was being unfairly targeted. He emphasized that IT searches were not unusual and did not imply wrongdoing. He further revealed that during the four-day operation, officials found only Rs 20 lakh in cash. Recalling past incidents, he noted that a similar IT raid took place in 2008 and that the latest one came after 16 years.
