Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to accelerate the development of Warangal with a vision to reflect Hyderabad’s growth. During a review meeting on land acquisition and infrastructure planning for Warangal (Mamnoor) Airport, the Chief Minister stressed the need for a world-class airport to attract international investments, particularly from countries like South Korea.
Revanth Reddy emphasized that the airport must serve as a catalyst for regional development in sectors such as IT, textiles, and pharma. “Warangal should grow to reflect Hyderabad’s progress. The airport must be equipped to handle increased traffic and facilitate investments,” he said.

Highlighting the importance of connectivity, he directed officials to link the airport with Warangal’s outer ring road and radial roads, ensuring seamless access from Khammam, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda districts. He also urged officials to study the Kochi International Airport model for implementing best practices.
The Chief Minister noted that once operational, Warangal Airport will significantly enhance tourist access to key destinations such as Medaram Jatara, Laknavaram Lake, and Ramappa Temple. He called for a comprehensive plan to develop road infrastructure and improve crowd management to cater to future needs.

Expressing concern over administrative delays, Revanth Reddy emphasized that officials must prioritize the project. He instructed the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) to expedite industrial zone development around Warangal to attract major companies.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Konda Surekha, Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Nagarjuna Sagar MLA K. Jayaveer Reddy, Infrastructure Advisor Srinivas Raju, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, R&B Principal Secretary Vikas Raj, Warangal Collector Satya Sharada, and Warangal RDO Satya Pal Reddy.
The Chief Minister assured that the government will take all necessary steps to ensure Warangal’s transformation into a key regional hub for investments and tourism.
