Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reportedly taken a pivotal decision regarding the ongoing controversy involving actor Allu Arjun. In the wake of intensified attacks from Congress leaders and workers, Revanth is said to have reversed his position. Sources suggest that the Chief Minister has decided to distance the party from the issue, fearing that continued remarks and criticisms could harm the party’s image.
In a meeting with MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, Revanth instructed Congress leaders to adopt a unified stance and refrain from further commenting on the actor’s involvement. Instead, it is believed that the Chief Minister advised focusing on attacking the opposition parties.
During a media briefing at Gandhi Bhavan, MP Kiran Kumar Reddy reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of all. He clarified that Chief Minister Revanth had made efforts to present the facts surrounding the Sandhya Theatre incident.

Revanth also emphasized the importance of appointing a responsible individual from the film industry to handle cinema-related issues, citing producer Dil Raju as an example. He noted that the Congress party had played a crucial role in bringing the film industry to Hyderabad during the tenure of the Anjayya Government by allocating land for Film Nagar and various studios, including Padmalaya and Ramanaidu Studios.
Regarding the Sandhya Theatre incident, the Chief Minister addressed the police’s decision to file a case against Allu Arjun, attributing the incident to irresponsible behavior. He highlighted the actor’s commitment to law-abiding conduct following his release from jail.

Revanth also clarified that while the theatre management had applied for permission, they had incorrectly claimed that approval had been granted. He stressed that the Congress party was not assigning blame but underlined the tragic consequences, including the death of a woman and the injury of a child. Concluding his statement, the Chief Minister announced that future benefit shows and other related concessions would be prohibited to prevent similar incidents.
