In a scathing critique, RS Praveen Kumar condemned the ACB case filed against BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the Formula E car racing issue. He described the case as “the worst case ever seen in the world.” Drawing from his experience as Hyderabad Crime Branch DCP, Praveen Kumar stated that he had investigated numerous financial crimes but had never encountered such a baseless case.
In a social media post, Praveen Kumar accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of wasting valuable public time. He stated, “Not a single penny from the alleged ₹55 crore went into KTR’s pockets.” He claimed to have thoroughly examined the ACB FIR 14/2024 and found no evidence of corruption against KTR.

Allegations Without Clarity
Praveen Kumar noted that the FIR failed to substantiate corruption charges even against IAS officer Arvind Kumar and HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy, with only procedural violations mentioned. He explained that such violations are common across departments and are typically rectified through departmental inquiries or cabinet approvals.
He defended the Rs 55 crore expenditure, emphasizing that it was invested to generate revenue worth hundreds of crores for the state. Criticizing the government’s abrupt cancellation of the Formula E agreement, Praveen Kumar questioned whether experts or the cabinet were consulted before the decision. He accused Revanth Reddy of causing financial losses to Telangana through impulsive actions.

“Revanth Reddy Is A-1, Not KTR”
Praveen Kumar asserted that the true “Accused No. 1” in the Formula E case is Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, not KTR. He called the allegations baseless and insisted that the truth would prevail, adding that such cases would fail to tarnish KTR’s integrity.
