The police in Vikarabad are preparing to file cases against 40 more individuals in connection with the attack on the Collector in Lagacherla. The authorities have intensified their investigation, with 70 individuals already facing charges. Among those arrested are 29 people, including former Kodangal MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, who have been remanded by the court.
Investigators are using videos recorded by some witnesses during the incident to identify additional suspects and build a stronger case.
Conspiracy Angle Under Investigation
Authorities are not only focusing on identifying the attackers but are also examining whether there was any conspiracy involved in the attack. The investigation is looking into who may have provided assistance to the perpetrators and whether the incident was orchestrated.

Meanwhile, the Telangana government has canceled the proposed Pharma City project in Lagacherla and announced plans to set up a multipurpose industrial zone in its place. A notification has been issued, and the decision has raised questions about the farmers’ ongoing protests. It remains to be seen whether they will cease their demonstrations or continue.
Relief for Former MLA Narender Reddy
Former Kodangal MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, who was arrested in connection with the attack and is currently held in Cherlapally Jail, has received relief from the Telangana High Court. The court has quashed two out of the three FIRs filed against him. Narender Reddy had challenged the legality of multiple FIRs being filed for the same incident, and the court ruled in his favor, dismissing two of the charges.
