The Telangana government has made a crucial decision regarding a comprehensive caste census. Orders have been issued to conduct a thorough household survey. CS Shanti Kumari mentioned in the Government Order (GO) that the survey will cover economic, educational, social, employment, and caste-related aspects. The Planning Department has been entrusted with the responsibility for this survey, which is to be completed within two months, specifically 60 days.
Additionally, the Revanth government has appointed a one-member commission to classify Scheduled Castes (SC) in the state. Retired High Court Justice Shameem Akhtar has been designated as the chief of the commission. The commission will study the backwardness within the SC social group based on sub-categories. It has been directed to submit its report within 60 days.
