Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) member Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, who announced his resignation from the party yesterday, met with Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan on Thursday. Following this meeting, he declared his decision to join the Jana Sena.
Balineni expressed his intention to hold a rally in Ongole, where he plans to formally announce his affiliation with the party. He stated that local representatives would also join him in the Jana Sena.
During the announcement, Balineni made significant remarks regarding the YSRCP and its leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy. He recalled his political journey, stating, “I walked alongside Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and had faith in him. I, along with 17 others, resigned from Congress to join YSRCP, believing in Jagan’s leadership.”
He criticized Jagan for not appointing any of the 17 individuals as ministers despite repeatedly emphasizing the importance of trust. Balineni articulated his grievances, mentioning the difficulties he faced while remaining loyal to YSRCP, even when there were challenges.
Reflecting on his interactions with Pawan Kalyan, Balineni said, “Pawan Kalyan has spoken about me several times, which gave me confidence.” He expressed disappointment that, despite his long tenure in YSRCP and sacrifices, Jagan did not acknowledge him.
Balineni clarified that his departure from YSRCP was not due to a lack of communication during election times, asserting that respect was more important than positions. He affirmed that he is joining Jana Sena while maintaining his principles and commitment.
He addressed concerns regarding online trolling about his transition, stating, “These are unfounded, and we will work together for the coalition’s success.” Balineni expressed gratitude to Pawan Kalyan for the invitation to join and mentioned that he would soon announce the date of his official induction into the Jana Sena.
