Amaravati: Former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing widespread criticism on social media following his tweet commemorating the death anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Netizens expressed their outrage, claiming Jagan does not deserve to speak about Abdul Kalam, accusing him of exploiting the former President’s name for political gain.
The controversy stems from actions taken during Jagan’s tenure, where the Abdul Kalam View Point in Vizag was renamed as YSR View Point. Additionally, the APJ Abdul Kalam Award was rebranded as the YSR Education Award. Incentives previously given to students under Kalam’s name were also rebranded under the “Jagananna” scheme.
Netizens are angry with Jagan for these changes and view his recent tweet as hypocritical, given his previous decisions to remove Abdul Kalam’s name from these honors.
