Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has said she is not an arrow released by anyone, rejecting claims by BRS leaders that she is Congress’s arrow, by Revanth Reddy that she is KCR’s, and by others that she is the BJP’s. Speaking at the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha in Kodangal, Vikarabad district, she said she represents the Bahujans of Telangana, who remain distant from power and education. She described herself as the war cry of Telangana’s youth, the ideology of Ambedkar and the self-respect slogan of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.
Kavitha lamented that politics in the state has been ruined and reduced to trading abuses. She said Lord Krishna sounded the Panchajanya conch to call for a righteous fight when injustice grew and people suffered under rulers, and that with lawlessness rising now, the Telangana Rakshana Sena is entering a “dharma yuddha” with the Panchajanya sabha. She said Congress leaders habitually counterattack when questioned about government failures, and warned that the time has come to unseat this government.
Turning to women’s issues, Kavitha said women are called queens, yet the utensils in kitchens carry men’s names. She noted that only one of India’s 29 states has a woman chief minister, and asked the women present whether they would rewrite this history and bring a matriarchal system to Telangana. She also mocked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who hails from the district and also holds the education portfolio, saying literacy rates in the Gattu and KT Doddi mandals of undivided Mahbubnagar district are on par with Afghanistan’s, and asked what answer he would give the people.
On farmers, Kavitha alleged that Revanth Reddy has no plan to supply irrigation water while farmers suffer. She said farmers have been forced to plead with officials for water, urea and paddy procurement under this government. She recalled that Palamuru farmers had to break open the Jurala head regulator to release water just the previous day.
Asking whether the people want a Telangana of farmer suicides again, Kavitha said the government is ignoring farmers. She called on people to unite and bless the Telangana Rakshana Sena, promising that it would then take up the resolution of the state’s problems.
