Tehran: Reports circulating in international media regarding the health condition of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, have sparked widespread global attention. According to these reports, he was seriously injured during alleged US-Israel strikes, with claims that he sustained severe burns and injuries to his face and lips, affecting his ability to speak.
International publications, including The New York Times, have reported that Mojtaba Khamenei may be undergoing advanced medical treatment, including possible reconstructive plastic surgery. The reports further suggest that he sustained critical injuries to his leg and has undergone multiple surgeries without full recovery, with doctors now considering the possibility of a prosthetic limb.
It is also being reported that he suffered injuries to his hand, which is currently under treatment and showing gradual improvement. However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding the extent of his injuries or medical condition.
Amid the speculation, reports claim that Mojtaba Khamenei is being treated in a highly secure and undisclosed location. Security arrangements have allegedly been tightened, with restrictions placed on direct meetings and communication being managed through handwritten notes delivered via secure channels to avoid electronic surveillance.
Meanwhile, it is suggested that a special coordination body involving Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officials has been formed to oversee key decisions related to national security, defence, and diplomacy. While these reports remain unverified, they have fuelled speculation about internal political developments in Iran amid ongoing regional tensions.
