Former MLC and Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has made sensational remarks, hinting at the launch of a new political party in the near future. During an informal interaction with the media, she revealed that she is considering naming the party “Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS),” while clarifying that the party flag will not feature the traditional pink colour.
Kavitha stated that the party’s launch day would include a visit to the martyrs’ memorial, with only Telangana movement activists present on the मंच. She also disclosed that a dedicated team is already working on the party’s registration process, indicating that preparations are underway at an organizational level.
Outlining the ideological direction of the proposed party, she said it would be guided by the principles of K. Jayashankar. She emphasized that the party’s primary political fight would be against the Indian National Congress.
Taking a swipe at Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Kavitha remarked that his campaigning had allegedly weakened the Congress in Maharashtra and could yield similar results in Kerala. She dismissed his comments on the “six guarantees” in Kerala and stated that issues related to Andhra Pradesh, including Amaravati, are not relevant to her party’s agenda. She stressed that her focus remains entirely on Telangana’s interests and cautioned against mishandling the “Future City” initiative.
On her political future, Kavitha indicated that if women’s reservation is implemented, she may consider contesting from Siddipet or Gajwel. She also noted the possibility of multiple seats in Nizamabad being reserved for women. Referring to the dismissal of the liquor case against her, she remarked that fortune is on her side, adding that while intelligence can be challenged, luck remains unstoppable.
