Chandigarh/Mumbai: The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has announced significant cash rewards for Punjab players who played a key role in India’s historic triumph at the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. PCA declared Rs 11 lakh each for captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Amanjot Kaur, along with Rs 5 lakh for fielding coach Munish Bali, who hails from Patiala. PCA President Amarjit Singh Mehta and Joint Secretary (Operations) Siddhant Sharma congratulated them, stating that honoring Punjab’s representatives in this national victory is a matter of great pride. A special felicitation event will soon be organized to recognize their contributions to Indian cricket.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a record Rs 51 crore cash reward for the World Cup-winning Indian women’s team. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia made the announcement following India’s 52-run victory over South Africa in the final at Navi Mumbai, marking the team’s maiden World Cup triumph. The reward amount, which exceeds the ICC’s official prize of ₹39.78 crore, highlights BCCI’s commitment to celebrating this landmark achievement.
The ₹51 crore prize will be distributed among players, coaches, and support staff. Saikia said the decision underscores the board’s vision of equal recognition for men’s and women’s cricketers. He added that this victory is more than just a sporting success — it symbolizes inspiration for future generations of women athletes and will be remembered as a defining moment in Indian sports history.
