Hyderabad: MLC Kavitha has questioned the Kaleshwaram Commission’s decision to issue notices to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) while seemingly overlooking Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd, the firm responsible for constructing 90 percent of the pump houses in the project.

She raised concerns over why the company’s owner was not issued a notice, despite serious allegations, including the collapse of the Sunkishala retaining wall. Kavitha pointed out that Megha Engineering was not blacklisted even after the incident and accused the company of continuing to secure numerous projects, allegedly misusing public funds with tacit support.
Defending KCR, she stated that they stand as his protective shield and questioned if bringing water to the region was a mistake. Kavitha further argued that the Kaleshwaram project encompasses more than just the three barrages and accused the Congress government of unfairly targeting KCR. She also called on former minister Etala Rajender to clarify his silence on the Banakcharla project.
