Hyderabad: In response to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Hyderabad police have declared a high alert across the city and intensified security arrangements at key locations. Authorities have deployed a three-tier security system at public places, heritage monuments, government offices, the IT corridor, and defense-related establishments. Extensive checks are underway in sensitive zones, with special focus on suspicious individuals and abandoned vehicles. Dog squads and forensic (Clues) teams have been deployed to assist in the operations.
The alert follows a bomb threat call received at Shamshabad Airport, which triggered swift and coordinated action by law enforcement agencies. Security has since been heightened at Charminar, Golconda Fort, the State Secretariat, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, and Rachakonda, among other locations. Vehicles parked near sensitive sites and inter-state buses are being thoroughly inspected. In view of the upcoming Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka held a high-level meeting with officials and directed that strict security be implemented at all venues, including a multi-layered safety protocol. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been stationed at the airport, while intelligence and Special Branch personnel are monitoring surveillance footage in coordination. Passengers have been advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departures.
