BJP MP Raghunandan Rao has made serious allegations claiming that Nalgonda district in Telangana has become a hotspot for two forms of extremism — Left-wing radicalism and ISI-linked activities. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP office in Nalgonda, he described the district as “highly sensitive” and alleged that several terror incidents across the country have origins traced back to this region.

“Nalgonda has turned into a ‘safe zone’ for extremist elements,” the MP said, accusing these groups of working to hinder the BJP’s growth. Despite the threats, he commended party workers for continuing their efforts on the ground.

Raghunandan Rao pointed to the recent religiously motivated violence in Pahalgam, calling for greater societal awareness of the direction in which the country is heading. He alleged that various forms of “jihad” are being carried out under different guises, with madrasas being used as a base for such operations. He demanded that madrasas undergo the same level of scrutiny as schools and colleges, calling for district collectors and SPs to investigate who resides in these institutions and what is being taught.

Criticizing the Congress-led state government, Rao said that while it boasts about successfully conducting a caste census, it has neglected to address the activities taking place within madrasas. He accused officials of ignoring the presence of ISI-backed terrorists, Rohingyas, and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Nalgonda.

“The administration has consistently failed to reflect ground realities and instead functions in favor of ruling parties whenever there is a change in government,” he alleged. He also noted that Congress leaders themselves have acknowledged flaws in the caste census process.

Rao also referred to recent incidents of desecration at temples in Secunderabad (Muthyalamma temple), Sadashivapet, and Komuravelly. He dismissed official statements that monkeys had toppled idols or that mentally unstable individuals were involved. “Why are only temples being targeted? Why do such incidents never occur in mosques or churches?” he questioned.

He called for thorough investigations into these incidents and expressed doubt that such acts could happen unintentionally or without planning.
