Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, concluded with several significant decisions covering infrastructure, energy, urban development, and welfare.
The Cabinet approved the draft ordinance for the categorization of Scheduled Castes (SC), marking a key step in addressing long-standing community demands.
In a major infrastructure push, Rs 617 crore was sanctioned for the construction of a new Assembly building, while ₹786 crore was approved for a High Court complex. It was also decided that the construction works would be handed over to the lowest (L1) bidder.

The Cabinet approved the establishment of the State Center for Climate in City Systems. It also decided to implement specialized flood management mechanisms in urban areas to better handle extreme weather events.
For industrial and IT development, the Cabinet allocated 21.66 acres of land to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) at IT Hill-3 in Visakhapatnam. An additional 3.5 acres were allotted to Urus Clusters Private Limited, with another 56 acres granted to the same firm in Kapuluppada for expansion.
In the energy sector, the Cabinet cleared proposals for two 30-MW hydropower projects near the Balimela and Joolaput reservoirs. These projects will be developed in coordination with the Odisha Power Consortium. Furthermore, approvals were granted for setting up wind and solar power plants across different parts of the state.
These wide-ranging decisions are expected to accelerate Andhra Pradesh’s development agenda across multiple sectors.
