Pune, Maharashtra, is grappling with a growing Zika virus outbreak, with six reported cases confirmed, including two pregnant women. The state health department has raised alarms, prompting heightened vigilance. Municipal authorities in Pune have launched preventive measures to curb the virus’s spread.
To tackle the issue, extensive fogging operations have been conducted across the city to eradicate mosquitoes responsible for transmitting the Zika virus. The first case surfaced in Arandwane, involving a 46-year-old doctor, followed by his 15-year-old daughter. Additionally, two cases from Mundwa and two pregnant women from Arandwane have also tested positive. Currently, all affected individuals, including the pregnant women, are reported to be in stable condition under medical care.
