Amaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) former MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has been arrested by the police after the Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed his plea for an extension of anticipatory bail in three cases, including an incident of EVM vandalism. Following the court’s decision, Pinnelli was taken to the Superintendent of Police’s office.
Former Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy faced a significant setback when the High Court rejected his bail pleas. Pinnelli had filed four anticipatory bail petitions, seeking protection from arrest in multiple cases. Besides the EVM destruction case, Pinnelli is implicated in three other cases: the attack on TDP agent Namburi Seshagiri at the Palvaigate polling station, an assault on CI Narayanaswamy in Karampudi, and another attack on Naga Shiromani in Palvaigate.
Recently, Pinnelli had sought an extension of his interim bail in all four cases. The High Court bench reserved the verdict and ultimately dismissed all four petitions today, leading to Pinnelli’s arrest.
