YS Sharmila, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Chief, has once again targeted her brother, former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, for not attending the ongoing Assembly sessions. Sharmila raised questions about why Jagan was not present in the Assembly, emphasizing that the public voted for leaders to engage in the Assembly debates, not to stay away and speak only in front of personal microphones.

In her remarks, Sharmila accused Jagan of avoiding responsibility and failing to address critical issues in the Assembly. She stated that the Congress had already criticized the state budget as ineffective before the YCP, only for Jagan to later make similar statements. “Even with 38% of the vote share, Jagan has failed to attend the Assembly, making the YCP an ‘insignificant’ party,” Sharmila added.

Sharmila further criticized that Jagan’s leadership has made the YCP unable to address public issues or challenge the government in the Assembly. “If you have integrity, raise concerns in the Assembly, not just before your own microphones,” she said.

She also called on YCP MLAs to either resign or demonstrate courage by attending the Assembly and engaging in discussions on the state budget and key welfare programs. Sharmila’s comments come as she urges the party to prove its worth in the upcoming elections.
