In Andhra Pradesh, a fresh political controversy has emerged over the use of chartered flights by state leaders. Former Chief Minister and YSRCP Chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly spent a staggering Rs. 222 crore from the state treasury on his air travel during his five-year tenure. This has sparked intense debate between the ruling YSRCP and the opposition TDP over the responsible use of public funds.

TDP leaders have contrasted this with the travel practices of Minister Nara Lokesh, who, according to an RTI filed by Kodamala Suresh Babu, funded all his 77 Hyderabad trips from his personal finances. The official RTI response confirmed that Minister Lokesh did not use a single rupee of government money for his official flights, highlighting a stark difference in expenditure patterns between him and the former CM.
The opposition party has leveraged this data on social media, accusing Jagan Mohan Reddy of misusing public funds while praising Lokesh for his personal accountability. The figures have now become a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh politics, fueling debate over transparency, governance, and fiscal responsibility in the state administration.
