Amaravati: Former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly criticized the current coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, accusing it of undermining law and justice. In a scathing statement, Jagan claimed that the ruling government was engaged in severe abuse of power, implementing the “Red Book” constitution, and making illegal arrests, thereby jeopardizing the integrity of the constitution.
Jagan specifically condemned the treatment of former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, describing the handling of the Gannavaram case by the government as highly unjust. He alleged that pressure from the TDP led to false charges being filed against Vamsi, pointing to the testimony of a Dalit youth in front of the judge who exposed the ruling party’s conspiracy. Jagan further accused the government of attempting to suppress the truth, following the exposure of their actions.

Regarding Vamsi’s arrest, Jagan questioned the legitimacy of police actions against the Dalit youth who had provided the statement, pointing out that the youth’s family was subsequently harassed by police and TDP workers. “This is not a democratic government,” he stated, stressing the severity of the situation.
Jagan also criticized the false charges against former MLA Kotharu Abbayya Chowdary, citing an incident where a TDP MLA had verbally abused Chowdary’s driver and later filed SC/ST cases against him. “The video of the MLA’s abusive language has been widely viewed, yet the police have filed counter-cases,” Jagan remarked, questioning the rationale behind the charges, including the severe Section 307 charges of attempted murder.
Jagan further accused the ruling coalition of attempting to distract the public from their unfulfilled promises by targeting opposition leaders and activists with fabricated cases. He concluded by stating that the people were documenting the failures of the government, and the coalition leaders would ultimately face the consequences of their actions.
