In a gruesome case of spousal betrayal and illicit affairs, a man was brutally murdered by his wife and her lover in Vikarabad district, Telangana, sending shockwaves through the Chowdapur mandal area. The victim, identified as Rathnaiah, was allegedly killed in a premeditated act disguised as an accident, drawing widespread local outrage.
According to Parigi DSP Srinivas, Rathnaiah and his wife Kavitha were married under customary rites. On Saturday, Rathnaiah was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle and died on the spot. Following a complaint from his brother Devaiah, police launched an investigation that uncovered a shocking revelation: Kavitha had been involved in an illicit relationship with Dasari Ramakrishna, a fellow villager.
The probe revealed that the murder was meticulously planned. Ramakrishna deliberately rammed Rathnaiah with a tractor while he was returning home from his fields, causing fatal injuries. The couple attempted to portray the death as a road accident. Initially, the police also treated it as an accidental death until the victim’s brother’s complaint prompted a detailed inquiry.
During interrogation, both Kavitha and Ramakrishna admitted to murdering Rathnaiah to remove him as an obstacle to their affair. The accused have been taken into custody and a case has been registered. Rathnaiah’s body was transferred to the district government hospital for post-mortem, and further investigation is ongoing.
