Vijayawada Cyber Crime Police have issued a notice to former MP Gorentla Madhav at his residence in Anantapur, directing him to appear before the police on March 5. The notice follows a complaint filed by former Women’s Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma on November 2, 2024.
According to the complaint, Madhav allegedly mentioned the name of a POCSO case victim during an interview. Based on this, police registered a case under Sections 72 and 79 of the BNS.

Responding to the development, Madhav alleged that the coalition government was deliberately targeting him. He warned Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan over their actions and stated that he would respond further after reviewing the case details. He confirmed that he would attend the inquiry along with his legal advisor and cooperate with the investigation. He further claimed that freedom of speech was being curtailed in the state and predicted political unrest in Andhra Pradesh.
Rising Political Tension: Speculation Over Next Arrest
The notice to Madhav comes amid a series of legal actions against YSRCP leaders. Former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi was recently arrested and is currently lodged in Vijayawada jail. On Monday evening, Andhra Pradesh Police arrested YSRCP leader Posani Krishna Murali at his residence in Hyderabad. He is expected to be presented before a magistrate soon.
With these developments, political circles are rife with speculation over the next possible arrest, further intensifying tensions in the state.
