The stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre has sparked intense political debate, with criticism directed at actor Allu Arjun following Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s comments in the Assembly. The latest to weigh in on the controversy is senior actress, Congress leader, and former MP Vijayashanti.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vijayashanti expressed regret over the incident, labeling it as unfortunate. She accused BJP leaders of attempting to use the tragedy for political gain. “The incident during the film’s release is truly unfortunate, and BJP leaders are attempting to exploit it for their benefit, as evidenced by statements from BJP leaders in the Telugu states,” she stated.

Vijayashanti also condemned remarks from certain central ministers who have criticized the Telangana Congress government and Chief Minister, claiming they are trying to undermine the film industry. “This is an issue that must be condemned. The film industry needs the support of the people, and efforts should be made to address the issues effectively to prevent such incidents in the future,” she concluded in her post.
