Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar has dismissed reports of his entry into the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), stating that he has retired from politics and has no intention of joining any party. Addressing the media today, he clarified that he voluntarily stepped away from active politics and does not have the patience to re-enter the political arena.
Following the recent electoral defeat of YSRCP, speculation had been rife that Jagan Mohan Reddy was reaching out to former associates of his late father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, to strengthen the party. Undavalli, who was once close to the former Chief Minister, had previously expressed views supporting both Jagan and Chandrababu Naidu at different times. However, his latest remarks put an end to speculation about his political comeback.

Undavalli’s Advice to Jagan Mohan Reddy
Undavalli also offered strategic advice to Jagan, urging YSRCP’s 11 MLAs to actively participate in Assembly proceedings and take on the ruling party. He cited the example of Tamil Nadu politics, where leaders like Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa had once won only a handful of seats but effectively played their opposition roles before returning to power. He emphasized that if YSRCP functions as a strong opposition, it could improve its chances in the future.
