New Delhi: A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Mumbai was delayed by nearly seven hours on Monday after two female passengers created a disturbance on board and attempted to forcibly enter the cockpit. The incident occurred just before the scheduled takeoff at 12:30 PM, prompting the flight crew to halt the aircraft and deboard the passengers involved.

According to officials, the women engaged in a heated argument with the crew, ignored repeated warnings from airline staff and fellow passengers, and tried to breach cockpit security. The airline subsequently handed them over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The flight, which was originally set to depart in the afternoon, eventually took off at 7:31 PM. The incident follows a series of recent disruptions affecting SpiceJet operations, including a technical snag on June 13 involving a Delhi–Srinagar flight that experienced issues near the runway, resulting in a crew member falling during the emergency response. The back-to-back incidents have raised renewed concerns over passenger behavior and airline safety.
