Two Indian nationals have been sentenced to death by a court in Kuwait after being convicted in a drug trafficking case. The accused were found guilty of possessing large quantities of narcotics, leading the court to deliver a capital punishment verdict. The identities of the convicts and the Indian states they belong to have not yet been officially confirmed.

According to official sources, Kuwait has adopted a strict zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. As part of this crackdown, the Ministry of Interior recently launched a special operation, during which drug control officials conducted surveillance in the Kaifan and Shuwaikh areas. The two Indian nationals were arrested and authorities seized 14 kilograms of heroin and 8 kilograms of methamphetamine from their possession.

Investigations revealed that the accused had links with an international drug trafficking network. Prosecutors presented supporting evidence before the court, which led to their conviction. Based on the findings, the court awarded the death penalty, terming the offence as serious and a threat to public safety.
