Hyderabad: The Telangana Rising Global Summit witnessed a major announcement as the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) declared plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore over the next decade across Future City and other parts of Telangana. The announcement, made by TMTG Director Eric, immediately became a highlight of the summit, drawing global attention and going viral on social media.
TMTG, established in 2021 by U.S. President Donald Trump, is primarily owned by the Trump Revocable Trust, which holds a 52% stake. The company operates its headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, and manages the Truth Social platform, which Trump uses to communicate with his followers after being banned from major social media platforms in January 2021.

The company went public on March 26, 2024, via a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), and is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker DJT. While TMTG has yet to post a profit, it currently generates revenue through subscriptions and advertisements. The company is also planning to expand its services beyond social media to include news, entertainment, and podcasts via an online streaming platform.
Telangana officials have welcomed the investment, highlighting it as a major boost for the state’s economy. In a related development, the state government is considering naming the main road in front of the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad as Donald Trump Avenue in recognition of the company’s commitment.
