Bihar: A tragic incident unfolded in Saran city on Tuesday night during the Mahavir Mela music event, resulting in the collapse of a residential balcony and injuring more than 100 people, with 10 in critical condition.
According to the Chapra police, the event took place in the Ishavpur block of Saran district, where a large crowd had gathered for the Mahavir Akhara procession. Thousands of devotees attended the festivities, and as the performances were underway, approximately 100 individuals climbed onto a balcony of a nearby building.
The already deteriorated balcony, unable to bear the weight, collapsed suddenly. This unexpected failure triggered panic among the crowd, leading to screams and a stampede. Numerous individuals were injured in the ensuing chaos.
Emergency services quickly transported the injured to nearby hospitals, where 10 individuals are reported to be in a critical state. The incident has been captured on video and is currently circulating widely on social media.
