The Telangana State Waqf Board has officially opposed the Waqf Act Amendment Bill recently introduced by the central government. A meeting chaired by Waqf Board Chairman Azmatullah Hussaini took place on Monday, during which the board expressed concerns that the proposed bill would adversely impact Waqf institutions. The board has therefore voiced its opposition to the amendment.
In related developments, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi extended his gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for supporting the rejection of the Waqf Act Amendment Bill. The meeting, presided over by Chairman Hussaini, saw participation from Owaisi and other board members.
