Counting of votes for the Telangana municipal elections commenced after polling was conducted on February 11 from 7 AM to 5 PM across 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations. Authorities have established 136 counting centers statewide, with trends expected to become clear by afternoon. As per procedure, postal ballots are being counted first, followed by regular ballot votes. A total of 12,944 candidates are in the fray across 2,996 wards, including 414 wards in municipal corporations and 2,582 wards in municipalities.

The overall voter turnout stood at 73 percent, with municipalities recording 75.88 percent polling and corporations registering 66.05 percent. Choutuppal municipality reported the highest turnout at 91.91 percent, while Nandikonda (Nagarjuna Sagar) recorded the lowest at 59.68 percent. Among corporations, Nalgonda witnessed the highest polling at 77.36 percent, whereas Nizamabad recorded the lowest at 59.12 percent.
Heavy police security has been deployed at all counting centers to ensure a smooth and peaceful process, with prohibitory restrictions imposed within a 200-meter radius of the venues.
