Cybercrime incidents are on the rise, with several WhatsApp media groups of Telangana ministers reportedly hacked in recent days. Hackers are sending APK files under the pretext of “SBI KYC” and urging ministers and journalists to update their Aadhaar details.

Cybercrime officials have cautioned against opening or installing such APK files, warning that they may be used to steal data or gain control over accounts. Authorities also advised users to be careful while forwarding messages and recommended enabling two-step verification on WhatsApp to enhance security.

Reports indicate that multiple WhatsApp groups have been compromised over the past two days, highlighting the growing threat of cybercriminal activity in the region.
