A major twist has emerged in the case of Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, with reports indicating that the Congress high command has directed her to resign from her ministerial post. Surekha, who travelled to Delhi to meet party leaders, is said to have been unable to secure an appointment with senior Delhi leadership even after arriving there. While it was earlier speculated that the high command had itself invited her to Delhi, it now appears that Surekha, sensing that action against her was likely given the developments unfolding in Delhi, decided to travel there on her own to meet party leaders and discuss the issues surrounding the controversy. She is reported to have gone to Delhi seeking meetings with AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, but is said to still be waiting for an appointment, as Venugopal has not granted her one so far.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, and ministers including Uttam Kumar Reddy and Vivek are already in Delhi. Reports suggest that Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka is also set to travel to Delhi tomorrow. It is against this backdrop that the high command is said to have advised Surekha to step down from her ministerial post, with intense speculation now surrounding what decision she will ultimately take.
