New Delhi: Telangana Minister Konda Surekha met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Thursday during her visit to Delhi. The meeting has drawn attention amid reports of an impending cabinet reshuffle in Telangana.
Surekha shared details of her meeting on social media, stating that discussions focused on Telangana’s political developments and key contemporary issues. However, speculation is rife that the visit was aimed at securing her ministerial position, as reports suggest she and Minister Jupally Krishna Rao could be excluded from the reshuffled cabinet.

Congress High Command Expresses Concern Over Surekha’s Remarks
The Congress leadership is reportedly displeased with Surekha over her controversial statements against BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao and actor Nagarjuna’s family. Party insiders believe her comments have negatively impacted the party’s image.
Additionally, tensions have been reported between Surekha and key leaders in the undivided Warangal district. Several MLAs, including Revanth Prakash Reddy, have lodged complaints with the high command, alleging interference in their constituencies.
Sources indicate that Surekha’s visit to Delhi was a strategic move to retain her cabinet position. She is believed to have highlighted her role in countering allegations made by BRS leaders against the Congress government. She also reportedly emphasized her contribution to the party’s strong electoral performance in Warangal, citing her efforts along with those of her husband, Murali, in securing victories in constituencies such as Parakala, Bhupalpally, Wardhannapet, Palakurthi, and Jangaon.
With the cabinet reshuffle on the horizon, all eyes are now on the Congress high command’s decision regarding her ministerial post.
