Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting at Parade Grounds in Hyderabad during his Telangana visit and made several key political remarks targeting opposition parties and outlining the BJP’s ambitions in the state. He began his speech in Telugu, greeting the people of Telangana and thanking them for their support.
Referring to the BJP’s recent electoral success in West Bengal, Modi described it as a historic victory and said the people of the state had decisively voted to bring the BJP to power. He stated that similar political enthusiasm and momentum are now emerging in Telangana, indicating growing public support for the party.
The Prime Minister said the outcome in West Bengal was not merely the defeat of a political party, but also a rejection of corruption, dynastic politics, and forces allegedly working against constitutional values. Targeting regional parties in Telangana, Modi alleged that both the BRS and Congress function as family-centric political parties.
Asserting the BJP’s expansion plans, Modi said Telangana is now the party’s next major political target after West Bengal. He expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in Telangana in the upcoming Assembly elections and stated that party workers across the state are displaying increased energy and commitment.
Criticising the Congress party, the Prime Minister accused it of encouraging divisive politics and making unrealistic electoral promises. He also remarked that Telangana had suffered due to Maoist activities and claimed stronger measures could have been taken earlier to tackle extremism. Modi further alleged that Congress follows a pattern of making promises before elections and later failing to implement them after assuming power.
