Hyderabad: The High Court has struck down the Multi-Purpose Health Assistants (MPHA) recruitment notification, citing eligibility discrepancies. In its verdict, the court clarified that only individuals holding a *Diploma in Health Assistant*, as stipulated in the 2022 notification, are qualified for these positions.
The issue dates back to 2012, when the court ordered the removal of 1,200 appointees who lacked the necessary qualifications. In response, the government later reinstated these individuals on a contractual basis through GO 1207. However, the court has now ruled this reinstatement illegal, declaring it contrary to its earlier judgments and likely to spark further complications.

The court emphasized that upholding GO 1207 would amount to repeating the government’s previous errors. It instructed authorities to compile a fresh list of eligible candidates and complete the recruitment process within 90 days, ensuring compliance with prescribed qualifications.
