The Telangana government is set to present a massive budget of Rs 3.30 lakh crore for the financial year 2025-26, a significant Rs 40,000 crore increase from the previous year’s Rs 2.91 lakh crore. According to Finance Department sources, the budget will focus on boosting revenue to meet rising expenditures while balancing welfare and development programs.
Key allocations will be made towards education, healthcare, agriculture, and welfare schemes. With the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) expected to be announced this year, the salary budget is likely to rise due to new recruitments and pending dearness allowances. Additionally, debt repayments and interest payments are expected to increase compared to the previous year.

The budget will also allocate matching grants for road construction projects, the Triple R project, and metro expansion, along with Rs 3,000 crore for the Musi River rejuvenation project. Major irrigation projects like Palamuru-Rangareddy, Sitarama Lift Irrigation, and Dindi are also expected to receive significant funding.
In line with the Chevella Declaration, the state is planning to allocate 18% of the budget, around Rs 54,000 crore, for Scheduled Castes (SCs). Chennur MLA Vivek Venkataswamy recently submitted a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, requesting the allocation.
The government is also focusing on infrastructure development in integrated schools, government schools, universities, and mid-day meal programs in colleges.
