The Telangana Education Department has announced significant changes to the 10th-grade examinations, effective from the academic year 2024-2025. The exam paper, which was previously set for 80 marks, will now be revised to 100 marks.
Elimination of Internal Marks and Grading System
In a notable shift, the department has decided to discontinue the practice of allocating 20 marks for internal assessments, which were previously included in the 80-mark exam. Furthermore, the grading system used for evaluating students’ results over the past few years will also be abolished.
The decision comes amid concerns over irregularities in internal assessments. In another change, students will now receive 24-page answer booklets for their final examinations.
