Hyderabad: The Telangana government has officially approved the design of the new Telangana Talli statue and issued a Government Order (GO) declaring December 9 as Telangana Talli Formation Day. The announcement was made on Monday, with detailed directives for annual celebrations at state, district, and mandal levels across all government offices.
The government emphasized that Telangana Talli represents the cultural identity and pride of the state. It issued strict prohibitions against any disrespect, criticism, or misrepresentation of the statue’s image. Legal action will be taken against individuals found dishonoring or defaming the symbol through social media or other means.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled the newly designed Telangana Talli statue earlier today. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “A mother represents the identity of any region or community. Telangana Talli is a reflection of our culture and traditions.” He criticized past administrations for neglecting Telangana’s heritage, both during the united Andhra Pradesh era and after the state’s formation.
The Chief Minister also highlighted key steps taken by his government, including the recognition of the movement’s iconic song, Jaya Jayahe Telangana, as the official state anthem. He stated that the decision to finalize Telangana Talli as the mother of all communities was made after extensive discussions with cabinet ministers to honor the aspirations of the Telangana movement.

The GO underscores the importance of the statue in inspiring future generations and mandates that Telangana Talli Formation Day be observed as an official event annually.
