Hyderabad: In commemoration of Telangana State Formation Day on June 2, the state government has announced a series of Police Service Medals to honour outstanding contributions across law enforcement and emergency departments. Orders to this effect were issued by Special Chief Secretary (Home) Ravi Gupta.
In the police department, nine Greyhounds personnel have been selected for the Shaurya Medal for acts of bravery. Additionally, 16 officers will receive the Distinguished Service Medal, 92 the Meritorious Service Medal, 47 the Hard Service Medal, and 461 the General Service Medal.
In the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), one officer will be awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, four will receive the Meritorious Service Medal, and 17 will be honoured with the General Service Medal.
From the Vigilance and Enforcement Department, one officer will receive the Meritorious Service Medal, while five others will be awarded the General Service Medal.
The Disaster Response and Fire Services Department will see two officers receiving the Shaurya Medal, one the Distinguished Service Medal, three the Meritorious Service Medal, and 14 the General Service Medal.
In the Special Protection Force (SPF), one officer will be conferred with the Distinguished Service Medal, three with the Meritorious Service Medal, and 15 with the General Service Medal.
The Telangana government’s announcement comes as a recognition of the dedication, courage, and exemplary service rendered by personnel across multiple state agencies.
