The Telangana government has released Rs 707.30 crore towards pending bills for state employees. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka issued the orders on Saturday. The allocation covers the dues for November and is in line with the government’s earlier assurance to employee unions that more than Rs 700 crore would be released every month to clear pending liabilities.

According to official sources, the latest release includes payments related to gratuity, GPF, surrender leave encashment and advances. The move is expected to provide significant relief to employees who have been waiting for months for settlement of their financial claims.

Bhatti Vikramarka also reviewed the power supply situation in the state and presented long-term plans for the energy sector. He stated that the government is working toward the goal of making Telangana a $3 trillion economy by 2047, which requires large-scale investment in electricity infrastructure and generation.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the state would require 1 lakh megawatts of power by 2047 and acknowledged that no dedicated power storage strategy existed so far. He added that the government is planning battery storage and pumped-storage facilities and has identified 12 potential locations for pumped-storage power projects.
