Telangana Cabinet Meeting: HYDRA granted expanded powers

The Telangana Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy concluded a short while ago. The three-hour meeting saw the participation of ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Uttam Kumar Reddy. Following the meeting, the ministers announced key decisions made by the Cabinet. The Telangana government declared that it would grant extensive powers to the HYDRA. They mentioned that the village panchayats within the ORR (Outer Ring Road) have been merged into core urban areas, granting the HYDRA the same level of freedom as other departments.

A decision was made to appoint 169 officials and 904 outsourcing employees for the HYDRA. There are 27 urban and local bodies within the ORR, and the ministers stated that 51 village panchayats will be merged into core urban areas. They also announced the formation of a committee to finalize the alignment for the southern part of the RRR (Regional Ring Road), which will consist of 12 members and be chaired by the Special Chief Secretary of R&B. The Principal Secretary of R&B will serve as the committee convenor. Additionally, the police health security scheme will also apply to the SPL.

Furthermore, the Telangana Cabinet approved the establishment of a logistics park on 72 acres in Manoharabad. It also approved the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff in eight medical colleges, with a notification for over 3,000 posts to be issued soon. An industrial park will be set up on 58 acres in Khammam district, and 34 staff members have been approved for the fire station in Eturu Nagaram..
